the organization. Bob has over twenty years of rich
and varied experience in education, including cross-cultural,
educational, and evaluation research; university

- the Omaha Children's Museum and Impression 5 Science
Museum. He further served as Program Director for

A developmental psychologist, Dr. Russell has experimented

Malu
serves as both the Partnership Director and Research
Advisor for projects carried out at the Self Reliance
Foundation. Prior to this assignment, Ms.
Jimenez managed and documented programs implemented
in Bolivia and Peru on Youth and Gender Based
Violence for a USAID-funded project in DC.
She recently worked as an ESL teacher at |

Chavez Charter High School. An avid learner and
traveler, Ms. Jimenez developed and implemented ESL and
Spanish teaching programs in California and in Colombia,
and also developed and promoted teaching strategies for
teachers in the Philippines as a Peace Corps Volunteer.
Ms. Jimenez holds a BA in Communications with an emphasis
in educational video from the Universidad Javeriana in
Colombia, and a Masters in International Education from
Harvard University. |

Lissa
graduated from Claremont McKenna College with
a B.A. in Spanish. Her focus was Latin American
Literature and she completed the pre-medical school
requirements. After college she spent several
months volunteering in Cochabamba, Bolivia with
the Foundation for Sustainable Development, followed
by a Spanish language program in Cuenca, Ecuador.
After returning to the U.S., she completed a year
of |

|
AmeriCorps volunteer service with the San Mateo County
Children's Health Initiative, where her career interests
shifted from Medicine to Public Health and Education.
In her current position, Lissa coordinates the Self Reliance
Foundation's Celebra La Ciencia programs, which
allows her to combine her passion for health, science,
and education and reach out to children and families in
the District and surrounding areas. |

Originally from Seattle, Lizzie
came to D.C. to attend George Washington University,
where she received her B.S. in Public Health.
She has served as Program Coordinator for an asthma-education
after school program through Project Health, and also
spent time volunteering in Argentina, developing educational
resources for disabled children and their families.
Lizzie has maintained a dedication for working with
Latino populations, which has guided her education,
her thesis, her work at the National Latina Health Network,
and now her position with the Self Reliance Foundation.

Eneida Pagán has recently
relocated from New York City where she worked at
MTV Networks for ten years. She started there as
an Administrative Assistant and worked her way up
to a Marketing & Promotions Coordinator. While
at MTV Networks, she worked on shows such like the
MTV Video Music Awards, VH1 Save the Music, and
Spike TV's Video Game Awards. Her most |

was as a Marketing & Promotions Coordinator for Spike
TV. There she coordinated various tours and sweepstakes
as well as created premiums for celebrities, clients,
and employees. Eneida loves listening to music, collecting
old radios, attending flea markets, and making jewelry. |

A veteran reporter, John has extensive
experience in print and broadcast journalism. He
oversees SRF’s La Ciencia en Breve (Science
Briefs) service, a weekly, bilingual compilation
of science and health news that is published in
Spanish-language newspapers across the country.

social marketing campaigns for SRF including Justicia
Ambiental (Environmental Justice), a national initiative
which provided information on environmental policy while
also serving to get out the Latino vote. He holds a B.A.
in Philosophy from the State University of New York at
Binghamton. |

Karen Tibabuzo is a trained veterinarian
in her native Colombia and also has a master's degree
in food production sciences. Before immigrating
to the United States, Karen worked as a public educator
in Bogotá, organizing agricultural extension
initiatives and also conducting workshops and public
trainings on agricultural |

topics such as animal husbandry and food
safety. Karen currently manages the SRF national Hispanic
help-line hiring, training and supervising help-line
operators, offering workshops and presentations on Hispanic
outreach at in conjunction with specific social marketing
campaigns, and handling all help-line reporting for
social marketing campaign managers.
