Founded in 1979, Self Reliance Foundation/Acceso Hispano (SRF) works to empower disadvantaged minorities by disseminating practical information and facilitating access to community-based services.

Our main goal is to inform and inspire Latinos to take advantage of opportunities for personal and community empowerment in such areas as health, women's issues, education, economic well-being, science, environmental protection and access to new technologies.

SRF oversees comprehensive educational campaigns using Spanish-language radio, print, festival exhibits, and the Internet to reach Hispanics throughout the U.S. and Latin America.

SRF also operates the National Hispanic Resource Help-Line (1-800-473-3003), the only national, multi-service, bilingual information and referral service in the U.S., linking Hispanics to resources in their own communities.
